On Tuesday, February 9, we will launch our 2nd Annual GC Giving Challenge! For 48 hours, we will be asking our entire community – alumni, students, friends, faculty, and staff – to join together and make a difference for our students.
The 28th Annual Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing will bring together tens-of-thousands of women technologists in Chicago to learn, network, and be inspired. The event will focus on technology innovation, cutting-edge research in computing, entrepreneurship, and professional development, as well as gender and pay parity in tech.
This is the single largest world gathering of women technologists and related organization leadership.
Dr. Tanya Goette would like to take twenty (20) of her best and brightest IT students to the conference to help in three critical areas:
- Enhance exposure to female industry professionals at all career levels;
- Foster robust connections to aid in job searching and networking efforts; and
- Increase overall exposure to inspirational tech innovation.
Because of COVID-19 restrictions, travel and lodging costs for Georgia College students will double from previous years. It will take $20,0000 to fund increased accommodation and travel expenses for the College of Business contingency this year. Your gift now will ensure we can send all twenty students to this once in a lifetime event.
Your generosity paves the way for future successful Georgia College alumna in technology. Don't delay. Donations end at noon on Thursday.
Remember, you can help us unlock a generous matching donation for this project with your gift of $25 or $50 today. If we can reach $5K during the two-day challenge, then we unlock another $5K and reach our $10,000 project goal.
If you wish to make a gift to another designation or fund, please visit this project page.
Note: Right now, the AnitaB.org organizing committee plans to have this event in person for 2021. If the event is forced to cancel due to ongoing pandemic travel restrictions, these funds will be earmarked for future travel related to this event.
