Women's Center 15th Anniversary

The Women’s Center is celebrating its 15th Anniversary this year! Thanks to our supporters (like you) we've experienced a lot of growth over the past 15 years and your donation today will allow us to continue to expand our work for decades to come!

The Women's Center was founded in response to the needs of our campus women, students who called for a space to learn and grow, find healing, and create community. Throughout the last 15 years, those values have stayed central to our work. While we have grown in the way of scope, mission and, engagement, we remain a place of community, for healing, and a space to learn and be challenged.

Our physical space has grown too! From our origins in the basement of the Maxwell Student Union, with all of our work being done in one (semi) large room to our time in the Smith House basement, we are excited to have found our current home on the second floor of beautiful Blackbridge Hall (The HUB).

We’ve have worked to become to be more intentionally inclusive along the way by broadening our focus areas and the populations we serve. We provide programs and services around power-based interpersonal violence prevention (Project BRAVE, Clothesline Project, Take Back the Night), LGBTQ+ education and support (STAR Ally, Lavender Graduation), healthy masculinity (Healthy Masculinity Conversations, Men Against Rape and Sexual Assault Peer Facilitators), as well as well as focusing on the intersectional needs of people who identify as women through programming such as the Women’s Leadership Conference, Feminist Leadership Academy, and various books groups, discussion groups, and community groups, like the Women's Action Collective.

As the Women’s Center works to expand and funding for diversity programs continues to decrease across the nation, we look to our allies to help us sustain our work. Make a donation today to support the Women’s Center. Your gift will have an immediate impact on the Georgia College students, faculty, and staff who we serve and work alongside. It will also help us provide increased programming, events, and other opportunities to our students.

As we celebrate Women’s History Month, donate today and help us reach our goal: $2020 in celebration of our 15th Anniversary! We are so thankful for you; any amount will make a difference.
