CrowdThunder is the online fundraising tool used to generate support for Georgia College by connecting the power of social media, peer-to-peer relationships and collective giving.
Crowdfunding offers donors a new avenue to provide support directly to the colleges, programs, and specific projects at the university that are most meaningful to them. Your support is all it takes to push innovative projects forward.

Supporters can make gifts of any size and track the overall progress of campaigns, which typically run for 30 days. All gifts made to CrowdThunder projects are tax-deductible to the extent of current IRS regulations.

What is CrowdThunder ?
CrowdThunder is Georgia College's crowdfunding platform to help reform the way the university fundraises. GC and its colleges, schools an athletic teams can showcase their prospective projects to outline funding priorities.
Who can donate to CrowdThunder?
The beauty of crowdfunding is everyone can donate to CrowdThunder. It’s another avenue to provide support directly to specific projects that are most meaningful to them. Having something specific to support often inspires people to embrace giving. Today’s donors want to know where their money is going and how it will make an impact!
How is CrowdThunder different from other crowdfunding platforms?
Gifts made through CrowdThunder directly support the designated project, whether or not the project reaches its fundraising goal. Your entire gift is a tax-deductible contribution to the GCSU Foundation, Inc. Each gift is directed to the respective program or project you support immediately.
What if a project doesn’t reach its funding goal?
If a project does not meet its funding goal, collected funds will be used to support the current project or other initiatives within the college, department, or program that most closely align with the original purpose of the gift.
If I give to the CrowdThunder campaign, does that mean I cannot give to a general fund?
No; CrowdThunder promotes short fundraising campaigns, which allows you to donate to specific projects. You can always make a gift for general support to any other particular purpose or fund. gcsu.edu/donate
What if a campaign is over funded?
If a project exceeds its funding goal, additional project funds beyond the stated goal amount may be used to further the project. Any funds available after the project ends may be used to benefit other projects within the college, department, or program that closely align with the original intent of the gift.
